Invasive species, global warming, and the germ of the painting in the morning shower

This is the painting I began the other day when I posted lengthy, rambling thoughts about inspiration.
It is not finished yet, but I thought it was at a postable point.

The initial inspiration for this painting was a photo on my husband's blog, for an article on "Climate Change and Invasives." (See http://www.theresilientworld.com/?page=3 ) The photo shows invasive vines engulfing part of the Cook Islands. That led me to thinking of our children and their future, and was the germ of this painting.
